As we wave goodbye to a year that has seen tragedy and terror, it’s worth reminding ourselves that for every awful global event, there have been many acts, on a small and large scale, that remind us of the power and generosity of the human spirit
As the news spread throughout the world on Saturday night of the agreement reached by world leaders at COP21, the reaction from civil society groups, governments and businesses, was overwhelmingly positive. But as we mark this milestone it’s worth remembering that around the world, inspiring people are already taking action to stop further environmental damage and help communities adapt to a changing climate.
This week, Members of the House of Lords debated the issue of inequality and the post-2015 international development framework. During the debate, Lord McConnell, our most recent parliamentary volunteer discussed his experiences and underlined the importance of tackling the issue of climate change, inequality and conflict/peacebuilding.
